Looking for a quick cheap bite, thought I'd give it a go. The Seaweed Salad was moist and delicious. And the Mixed Maki had a terrific selection, that included more Seaweed Salad, and what I think was Eel too. Would definitely return. Hint/Warning: The Wasabi was very powerful, so remember to either put on microscopic amounts, or get something to drink, or better yet: both!

The food was largely great and served quickly, the Sushi was fresh although the ebi Fry filling was warm (fried prawn), our least favourite dishes were the Gyoza and Takoyoki, however would recommend the seaweed salad, Sushi and Unagi Don. Our only negative was that the lemonade never arrived and we only realised once we left! Otherwise friendly staff, nice venue, although small with a nice atmosphere.- Service

What a fabulous venue for lunch with friendly, attentive service. The Mixed Maki Bento Box was a pleasure to eat. Only enough room for about 20 folk to sit down and eat but somehow it works out and I’m sure nobody leaves disappointed.

My family and I came here recently seeking fresh and authentic sushi in Lancaster. I totally recommend Sushi Cat, as it is definitely a hidden gem, worth the visit! The Kaarage Chicken Don we ordered was absolutely delicious, and the salmon sashimi was tasty as well!

Been here 3 times already and the food is always fresh tasty and authentic. Staff is also very friendly and the restaurant has really lovely Japanese decor makes it feel like you’re actually eating in Japan. Best Japanese food in Lancaster

The pan fried egg (mentaiko tamagoyaki) with creamy crab seed is a delight but the main spotlight should be on the matcha products. The matcha latte with flavour far richer than any other you can have in Lancashire. And the matcha basque cheesecake is the best item on the menu with creamy texture and rich matcha flavour. More importantly, it is not too sweet which you will never feel guilty having one after one. Unfortunately, it was consumed before photo taking so you have to try it yourself.- Service

However, when I tried this restaurant for the second time today, I found that the owner had made some changes, the Mentaiko Tamagoyaki tastes exactly like what you can eat in Japan, and the set C it is also a very authentic Japanese flavour.

Here are the comments from my first try.
Matcha latte taste very very bland, with almost no matcha flavour. Tamago sushi also lacked of egg flavour. Unagi was so soft and glutinous that it only becomes delicious thanks to the teriyaki sauce. However, the matcha basque cheesecake is so delicious that it’s worth visiting this restaurant again and again. Overall, the meals at this restaurant were not exactly authentic Japanese food.- Service

Hidden gems in Lancaster. The soft shell crab temaki is a must!!!!! Best in UK~ The Unagi don and chicken wings are amazing. Definitely would visit again.

Came on a date night with my boyfriend, 100% the best sushi in Lancaster by far and up there with some of the best sushi I’ve had in the UK. So refreshing, fresh and authentic. Staff were nice and speedy service as well, they also offer take away which i’ll definitely be coming back to use again :) 100% recommend the mixed maki and the crab hand roll!

The food here is honestly amazing. It’s in a really nice, out of the way location, while still being central, and the atmosphere inside is great. The staff are all very polite and the prices are very fair. I’m so happy a place like this opened in Lancaster and I would recommend it to anyone.

It’s my second time getting take out from this new Japanese sushi restaurant in Lancaster. I can say this is the best and freshest sushi I have ever had in the UK. I love the scallop and Unagi so so so much. The Takoyaki is exactly the same as what I had in Japan. Will definitely come again.

I lived in Japan for two years - this is the best Japanese food I've had anywhere since coming home. It even "smelled of Japan" as soon as I walked in. Completely authentic. Ridiculously good. Experience Japan by going here instead.

I was so excited to try this place when I saw it was opening! Went in for the first time today and it was all fantastic! I walked through the door and was met with a big smile and welcome from the staff and the chef, instantly made me feel welcomed and comfortable! The interior had a nice modern style that made it nice to sit on and not just get takeaway. Now let me tell you about the food! It was amazing!!! I got the nigiri platter (and maybe some gyoza because why not) and i was so happy with it! It came with a set of Ebi Furai rolls, wakama, pickled radish and an amazing selection of Nigiri, you got the classic fresh salmon and tuna, cuttlefish and eel as well and then most shockingly to find you got some clam as well as Scallops!! All for £13!! It all tasted so fresh and well made, the rice was soft but pressed well. You could really tell the chef enjoyed what he did because he looked to be enjoying himself while making everything. Overall I couldn't recommend this place any more and will definitely be going back (most likely a couple times a week!)- Parking

This Japanese restaurant truly captures the essence of Japan. The authenticity of the food, the ambiance, and the attention to detail make dining here a genuine cultural experience. I feel like I've been transported to Japan! I’ve tried Unagi don and miso soup this time. Both are excellent and definitely will come back and try the others.
